Final Cut Big Sur

The below hack only works on intel Macs not on M1 chip Macs. Any idea on how to get Final Cut Pro 10.4.6 work on M1 Mac with Big Sur. I bought M1 MacBook Air.

  • Final Cut Pro creates copies of the media files in the Apple ProRes format, places them in the library’s current media storage location, and relinks clips in the library to the converted files. If you choose Cancel, you can resume scanning the library and convert the incompatible files at any time in macOS Mojave.
  • Final Cut Pro is a series of non-linear video editing software programs first developed by Macromedia Inc. And later Apple Inc. The most recent version, Final Cut Pro 10.5.1, runs on Mac computers powered by macOS Catalina 10.15.6 or later.

I've just been having similar issues with missing plugin logos suddenly appearing over video material that had previously been working. I've resolved it by making sure the source files weren't being accessed 'on demand' in iCloud and they were downloaded to the local drive.

If your files are being stored in iCloud (or any other cloud storage network); In finder, go to the source location, right click on the file and select 'Download Now'.

Hope that helps?
